Explanation for Mr.Toyoda's Tears

Toyota Motor Company's president,
Akio Toyoda cried in front of his men in the States.
It maybe seemed weird for the Americans
that a mighty leader of a huge international company
appeared like a man insane.

However, it was a form of a sincere man in Japan.
In a culture that people mustn't show emotions,
like smiles or tears,
crying in public is very important action,
and it's not a negative thing but a beautiful gesture.
It means that the man crying has a special concern or
emotion for the problem,
because normally japanese males never cry.
If someone who is responsible for a very big issue
doesn't cry, he'll be taken as he don't feel sorry
in his heart but just words.

Thus Mr.Toyoda showed his sincereness.
But maybe most Americans thought Akio is not for
leading people because he can't control himself.
He cried in a intension to tell
that he is deeply sorry and he really care for it.
You can see that he didn't cried in the Congress.
He cried in front of only Toyota colleagues.
